Chip's Not Dead Yet

Posted by Derek Story at May 13, 2009 12:16AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

So a friend of ours, Andrea Bava, is putting together the second annual Chip’s Not Dead Yet Memorial Mile.

Race (if you can call it that) is on the 20th of June and is described as:

"part run, walk, parade and party. The goal is to participate, celebrate life and raise money for BC Children’s Hospital."

Sounds like a lot of fun, so if you’re interested in running, or just donating to the cause, visit www.chipsnotdeadyet.com/register and choose the TeamPages.com team (password teampages).

Cheers,
Derek

First Win

Hey team,

Another good turnout this week. For those of you who missed it (probably the ones who remembered it was Mother’s Day…ahem, Mike) we came from behind and took the game quite handily 7-4.

No game next weekend due to the long weekend, but if anyone is interested, let me know and I’ll set an inter squad game up. Enjoy the week and hopefully see some people on Wednesday.

Awesome turnout for our first game!

Posted by Mike Tan at Apr 29, 2009 1:56AM PDT ( 3 Comments )

Hey team!

Awesome turnout for our first game last Sunday. Thank you to every one of you that showed up to the game. I think we definitely had the biggest team out there!

As for the result, I think only our players scored goals in the game. Unfortunately, 5 of them were on our own net (one of them hopefully not on purpose though :) ). If anyone remembers who scored the goals for our team last game, I’ll add them to our stats page.

Also, just to make sure that we have enough numbers for our next game this Sunday, can you please leave a message on the message board below whether or not you’ll be able to make it. This time we’ll definitely try and get a bbq going!

Cheers,

Mike

Game Attendance

Posted by Derek Story at Apr 23, 2009 1:06PM PDT ( 1 Comment )

Looks like we’ve gone from a pitiful team of 4 dudes that spend way too much time in front of computers, to a pretty good turnout. Team captains meeting tonight, which is where they’ll probably tell me to enter in an official roster on their urban rec site, so expect an email or invitation of sort to join the team on urban rec.

That said, since so many people on the roster will be away here and there (a big reason why we’re at 15+), it would be great to know ahead of time who is and isn’t going to be there each week. So when you get a chance, please visit the event info (http://www.teampages.com/events/202505) for this week’s game and confirm your attendance status.

See everybody Sunday!

Urban Rec Co-ed Soccer League

Posted by Derek Story at Mar 23, 2009 5:01PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Alright everybody, so here are the details…we’re playing in an 8-week league starting April 26th. All friends are welcome but as per usual, we need to make sure we have enough girls out (at least 2 on the field at all times).

So it’s time to put on our recruiting hats and find some footballers. Message Mike or I if you’d like to play.

I was also thinking that we’d maybe get out and kick the ball around a little, cuz I know I’m going to be especially rusty. I’ve suggested Sunday afternoons, but if another time works better for the group I’m all ears.
